Training for Family Caregivers

Dementia Care Series on (Date TBD)

Gentog will provide caregiver trainings for unpaid family caregivers residing in Washington County who are caring for an older adult over the age of 60 or younger with a dementia diagnosis.  The trainings will be offered in English with Spanish interpreter available.

Session One 3-4pm

  • Understanding challenges of living with dementia
  • Ways to make caring for your loved one easier

Session Two 4-5pm

Presented by:  Joseph Konty, Gentog

  • Music in Care
  • Musicking in relation to care partnering with those living with dementia

Session Three 5-6pm

Presented by:  Dr. Amy Friday

  • Importance of Self Care for Caregivers
  • Ways to care for yourself while caregiving
  • Tips & tricks to ensure you are caring for yourself too

Free Care for Your Loved One

Your loved one with dementia is invited to join Gentog's adult day program for the afternoon, at no cost to you. They will enjoy time with new friends while you learn.  Reservations required - include details when you register.
