Who we are

Gentog Community Services is our non-profit organization and a heartfelt extension of Gentog. We have always believed in the power of intergenerational connections, with our unique daycare model that integrates childcare and adult day services. Each day, we witness the magic that happens when children and seniors come together.

Recognizing the needs of our community, we have launched this non-profit initiative to extend our support even further. Through our years of dedicated caregiving, we have observed the significant challenges faced by caregivers and care partners of PLWD (People Living with Dementia) and other physical and mental limitations. We understand the immense responsibility and emotional toll this can take, and know that burnout is a real thing and we want to help. 

Our non-profit is committed to offering comprehensive help for caregivers by providing resources, support, and a compassionate community where they can find understanding and encouragement. We aim to restore a sense of joy and normalcy that is often diminished when a loved one is dealing with dementia or similar conditions.

In addition, we believe in the importance of faith, sprituality and fellowship. Our non-profit provides a safe and welcoming environment where families can celebrate their beliefs together, ensuring that spiritual needs are met alongside physical and emotional care.

There is an African proverb that we heard a long time ago and it has always stuck with us: 

“We must care for our children for they have far to go, we must care for our elderly for they have come far and we must care for those in between for they are doing all of the work.” 

We started this non-profit because we saw a gap in the community's needs and knew we wanted to help fill it. Our goal is to create a space where caregivers and their loved ones can thrive, find joy and community again, and feel supported every step of the way. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community, one that honors and celebrates every individual's journey.
