Music has the power to heal, connect, and transform—and Joseph (Joe) Konty brings that power to life every day at Gentog. As our Director of Music Care, Joe leads a wide range of music-centered programs designed to uplift the spirit and stimulate the brain, especially for those living with dementia.
A lifelong professional musician, educator, and songwriter, Joe combines his creative talents with a deep passion for people. He oversees our music care trainings, coordinates internship opportunities, and facilitates our dementia-friendly Spiritual Gatherings—providing meaningful connection through faith, music, and shared experience.
His concerts and interactive sessions bring joy not only to our senior community but also to the children in our preschool program, bridging generations through rhythm, song, and storytelling.
Outside of Gentog, Joe continues to write, record, and teach, always finding ways to use music as a tool for communication, healing, and celebration. Whether he's leading a singalong with seniors, mentoring young interns, or simply strumming his guitar in the hallway, Joe brings energy, empathy, and creativity to every note.
